This reality sets traffic management apart from construction and maintenance activities that have fully developed unit standard based certification and development pathways.
All senior managers must be aware of the direction that the new Health and Safety at Work Act has set, traffic management is high risk and can be seen as a vulnerable activity due to the lack of a direct connection between the operational risks and the training currently provided. Typical training today provides TCs and STMS’ with a license to operate but the not the competency to do so safely and efficiently to a high standard.
Evolve is a unique partnership between Passrite, a well-established, independent and accredited Private Training Establishment (PTE), and Evolution Traffic Management whose parent company holds a similar status in Australia and which in New Zealand has a sizable internally focused and vastly experienced technical training team. This partnership evolved as both parties realised the failings, and associated risks, of the current training regimes.
