Dear: General, Human Resources, Health & Safety and Training Managers
We are proud to present Evolve Training Academy, the new player in Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) training. Evolve has emerged in response to the lack of a dedicated competency based TTM development pathway for what is recognised as a high risk work activity.
This reality sets traffic management apart from construction and maintenance activities that have fully developed unit standard based certification and development pathways.
All senior managers must be aware of the direction that the new Health and Safety at Work Act has set, traffic management is high risk and can be seen as a vulnerable activity due to the lack of a direct connection between the operational risks and the training currently provided. Typical training today provides TCs and STMS’ with a license to operate but the not the competency to do so safely and efficiently to a high standard.
Evolve is a unique partnership between Passrite, a well-established, independent and accredited Private Training Establishment (PTE), and Evolution Traffic Management whose parent company holds a similar status in Australia and which in New Zealand has a sizable internally focused and vastly experienced technical training team. This partnership evolved as both parties realised the failings, and associated risks, of the current training regimes.
Ultimately business management comes down to balancing risks and costs, we have structured our training products to be cost competitive and to target the real and often hidden costs of poor training – a lack of compliance, poor productivity, safety incidents and accidents, vehicle wear and tear and lost work time.
All of our competency based training includes building the NZQA Record of Achievement. Through our National Training Manager, Ben Isdale, we are on the journey to transform traffic management training into a fully NZQA compliant and competency based programme, this is now fully supported by NZTA and Connexis, and the construction industry is on board. Evolve will actively manage this transition for its customers with courses being updated regularly.
By engaging with Evolve you can be confident that you are working with a business that really ‘gets’ traffic management, as a PTE meets professional independent accreditation standards for trainers, facilities and courses, is highly customer-focused and is driven to transform traffic management training – let us “evolve” your team.
